News from the Campaign for the Future !

The Campaign for the Future is our $1.5 million capital campaign that is raising funds for the Center’s new home at 530 East Union Street.

Our Campaign Committee is headed by John Ciccarone and Jim McErlane, and includes the three County Commissioners, and current and past board members.  The public relations, events, corporate, and seniors committees provide additional essential help and support.

To date, $1,509,505 has been raised in gifts and pledges.

WE HAVE REACHED OUR $1.5 Million Dollar Goal

Thank you to our Campaign Donors
The Campaign began in spring 2005, with contributions from members of the Board of Directors, the Advisory Board, and the Campaign Committees. Campaign committee members then started reaching out to the community, and started soliciting contributions from individuals and local businesses.  Our Seniors Committee, comprising seniors who are Center members, enthusiastically began soliciting other seniors and assisting Campaign Committee members with their fund raising activities.

Several government agencies have stepped forward, generously supporting our new Center.  In fall 2005 we received a $300,000 commitment in CDBG funding through the County, and recently a $100,000 commitment in DCED funding through the State.  A local foundation, The W. W. Smith Charitable Trust, made a $35,000 grant toward our new dining room and kitchen.

How You Can Help
If you haven’t already made your gift or pledge to the Campaign, please consider doing so.   Your contribution will help us reach our $1.5 million goal!

  • There are many ways you can give, depending on what’s convenient for you.  Here are a few suggestions: Contributions can be made in cash – click here to print out a contribution form, or send a check to:  The Campaign for the Future, WCASC, 530 E. Union Street, West Chester, PA  19382
  • You can give appreciated stock or other securities, thereby avoiding paying a capital gains tax while obtaining a full deduction for your gift.  For information about how to do this, contact Amy Balian at 610-431-4242 or via e-mail:

            amyb@wcseniors.org.

You can make a pledge over several years, which may allow you to make a much larger gift.  For example, a $1,000 gift, paid over three years, is $28 a month.

You can determine your payment schedule to fit your financial situation, and we’ll send you cheerful reminders when your payments are expected.  Click here to print out a pledge form.

  • You might like to make a named gift in honor or memory of a loved one or special friend or family member.   Click here to see a list of our named gift opportunities.
